Quick start
Up and running in a minute
- Download VirtualZones.exe (or the installer) from the latest release.
- Run it — nothing to install for the portable exe. It starts confining with the default 25/50/25 layout and thin blue zone borders.
- Maximize or F11 any app; it snaps into its zone. Other zones stay usable.
- Hold Shift and drag a window to drop it into a zone, or change the layout from the dropdown.
- Enter a license key any time within the 7-day trial to keep confining after it ends.
Seeing “Windows protected your PC”?
That’s Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, shown for any unsigned or low-reputation app — not a finding about VirtualZones specifically. Click More info → Run anyway. Installing via the Microsoft Store (coming soon) sidesteps the warning entirely.
